Yep, kids just hate librarians. Here's a book that will really challenge those librarian stereotypes.Actually, the book sounds pretty funny, even if it is putting the verbal smackdown on the hard-working dedicated librarians of America.
Check out the website for Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians.
Can anybody think of a book that makes librarians sound like the cool and interesting people? I have found that even books with the best of intentions, such as Because of Winn-Dixie, still fall into the trap: the librarian is a nice, old woman who is all-knowledgable about books but seems to know nothing about technology. And for the records, male librarians get treated even worse.

LOL, I kind of like the idea of evil librarians. It's more exciting than the usual stereotype. :)

There is always Barbara Gordon of comic book fame. She was a librarian in her early years as batgirl, until she was shot in the spine by the Joker. She then became a knowledge broker for Batman and the JLA, becoming a master hacker and fighting crime from her wheelchair. She founded the Birds of Prey and has been on the cutting edge of technology ever since.
So I sent another librarian friend a children's book called _The Boy Who was Raised by Librarians_ and it had a trio of librarians that was the bomb. :)
